Heat shrink tubing is used to protect cables, wires, and more recently, circuit boards from harsh environments. They seal cable interfaces and create watertight barriers in form factors that match the object it's being used on. If you're looking for lightweight protection for cables or circuit boards, single wall heat shrink tubing is the way to go. We offer it transparent heat shrink tubing in small to very wide diameters that can accommodate circuit boards and offers very good protection for a design when you can't use an enclosure. LED sockets are ideal when you need an LED indicator on the outside of your system. This could be to indicate that the system is alive, a flashing beacon to inform people that the system is on, or an infrared LED to light up a camera at night. In cases where you need to have LEDs and also maintain a watertight seal, we recommend these LED sockets. These fit any 5mm LEDs and provide a socket with a gasketed rear mounting nut. There is some additional work required to seal the cap after the legs are threaded through. Once in place, you will have a watertight LED indicator on the outside of your enclosure.

Sometimes you need a way to trigger your field device from outside the enclosure without opening it up. This could be to arm it, put it into a test mode, send an event to it. It gets complicated by the fact that the field device needs to be in a harsh environment and maintain a watertight seal. In those cases, we recommend waterproof buttons. These are waterproof, momentary pushbuttons which have a gasketed seal on the rear mounting nut. They also have a gasket on the button mechanism separating it from the actual button contacts. Because of this, it's possible to have buttons on the outside of the enclosure and still maintain a watertight system.
